lyrics

He did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
But instead he humbled himself even to the point of death.
He took the form of a servant and then laid down his life,
So that all humanity could be restored in God’s sight.

And then he rose up from the grave so everyone could receive
That gift of eternal life ever so freely.
And when we die, we’ll rise with Christ,
The King of kings, and Prince of peace;
He’ll wipe the tears from our eyes at the heavenly wedding feast.

That soul, that on Jesus Christ has leaned for repose,
He will not, no, will not, desert to its foes.
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
He’ll never, no, never, no never forsake.

Every knee will bow and tongue confess
That Christ is King over everything.
From every tribe they’ll gather together as one and sing:
“Glory to the King of kings, the Lord of lords and Prince of Peace,
His majesty will never end for he is our High Priest.

In me ol’ Jerusalem is where the Christ appeared at first,
He’s coming back on that mount to dwell with his chosen church.
When the clouds appear and he descends
What terrifying sight t’will be
That Christ is pleased with man to dwell
On the earth and judge his deeds
